Dr. Abha Mehndiratta, India Technical Adviser, NICE International, made a presentation on “UK’s Quality & Outcomes Framework (QOF): Linking NICE Quality Standards to payment” , during the National Convention on Quality in Public Health organized by the National Health System Resource Center (NHSRC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Dr. Abha participated in a panel on “cross learnings in quality” and gave an overview of how NICE Quality Standards – comprising of process and outcome measures – are linked to pay for performance in NHS primary care. The presentation was very timely since India is soon going to launch the ambitious National Health Assurance Mission (NHAM) and is looking to learn from global models on quality of care which can be incorporated in the NHAM.
