Priority-setting in the journey towards universal health coverage

Jan. 30, 2014

Welcome to iDSI, the international Decision Support Initiative. We provide a platform for supporting low and middle income country (LMIC) policymakers in making better use of healthcare resources to generate maximum health, in their journeys towards universal health coverage (UHC).

iDSI is an unprecedented partnership between leading priority-setting institutions, universities and thinktanks in the world of health technology assessment. Here at NICE International, we are incredibly privileged and excited to be working with the Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program (HITAP, Thailand), Center for Global Development (CGD), Imperial College London, University of York, the Office of Health Economics (OHE), and Meteos.

Together, we shall bring a unique offering of intellectual insight with hands-on field expertise. We shall bridge the gaps between knowledge and policy; engage decision-makers with those affected by their decisions; and draw on our vast network to facilitate South-South partnerships.

We are very fortunate to have the joint funding support of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and UK’s Department for International Development (DfID) from now until 2016, to develop iDSI into a sustainable platform for global public goods and institutional capacity building for UHC.

With only two years to make our mark, the initial phase of work is already well underway and we shall be posting updates on our activities in the coming months. You can also read our press release.
