This paper outlines considerations and potential approaches for UK state sector organisations to systematically collaborate with LMICs for health systems strengthening.
Findings are presented from interviews with twenty four key informants from a variety of organisations in the UK including the National Health Service, central government departments and executive agencies, non-governmental organisations, royal colleges, and academic institutions, considering:
- What are the critiques of current partnerships?
- How can we understand the demand?
- What should be considered when responding to demand in the future?
- What are the risks of such partnerships and collaborations?
- What sorts of approaches could be considered to respond to demand?
