The Global Bioethics Program at the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics explores the global context of public health, clinical, science and research ethics, and includes our Johns Hopkins-Fogarty African Bioethics Training Program (FABTP). The Berman Institute’s faculty of multidisciplinary experts conducts bioethics scholarship, research, and training, and participates in global policy-making efforts in multiple countries world-wide. Over the past decade, we have hosted visiting scholars from across the globe, including Botswana, Ghana, Zambia, China, Uganda, Pakistan and Burma. One of the largest bioethics centers in the world, the Berman Institute is the home for collaborative scholarship and teaching on the ethics of clinical practice, public health and biomedical science at Johns Hopkins University. Since 1995, the institute has worked with governmental agencies, nongovernmental and private sector organizations to address and resolve ethical issues.
